Which money comes back, and which stays put.

The short version

Charges fall monthly and arrive ahead of the month they cover. Stop when you like, and whatever has been paid for plays out to the end of it. Part months do not get divided. Where money was taken for something never delivered, it comes back and nobody argues.

Why it works like that

Each line here sits on a licence we pay for by the month, by the unit, used or not. Cutting your month in half means absorbing a cost that cannot be recovered, and the usual way a provider covers that is by asking you to sign up for a year. We would rather do neither.

So the arrangement is plain. Nothing traps you, and the month underway is the month you bought.

Stopping a line

Cancel in the portal, or write in and it gets done. That line continues until whatever was already paid for expires, then stops. Dropping a count works identically: the smaller number applies from the next charge and the current month stands.

Adding a line, or raising a count, is handled by Stripe, which charges whatever part of the month is left.

Money that comes back

• Something was billed that you never ordered. The full amount comes back, and somebody goes and finds out how it happened.
• A line was charged and never provisioned. Refunded for however long it sat there doing nothing.
• A charge arrived after cancellation. Refunded in full.
• The same charge landed twice. Refunded in full.

Refunds land back on the card that paid, since that is the only destination a card refund has. Stripe usually shows it within the week, frequently sooner.

Money that does not

• A month you chose not to use. The licence was held open and paid for on your behalf either way.
• Hardware you never got round to enrolling. Counts belong to you, and we will happily go over them before the next charge lands.
• An incident that happened anyway. These are controls rather than insurance, and that distinction is printed on the front page for a reason.
• Work that has already been done. Standing it up, tuning it, and investigating all burned engineer hours, and those do not come back because a subscription later ends.

A charge you do not recognise

Statements read FORTIFY 24X7, that being the company operating this brand. It is far and away the most common reason somebody writes in about a charge they cannot place.

Come to support@celebritybytes.com before opening a dispute at the bank. We can identify a charge and send it back within minutes, whereas a dispute runs for weeks and usually suspends the service while it does.

Cards that fail

Stripe retries a failed card to a schedule of its own. Somebody gets in touch before anything is switched off, and cover is not dropped in silence because a card expired. As soon as payment goes through, everything carries on with no rebuilding.

Asking

Mail support@celebritybytes.com with the date and the amount. That is the whole procedure. There is no form, no reference to quote, and no queue designed to exhaust you.
