A passport gets scanned for a visa and sits in a downloads folder for four years. Contracts arrive as attachments and get saved twice. Medical letters, bank details for one transfer, the spreadsheet with everybody's address on it from the wedding. None of it was filed deliberately. All of it would make somebody's week. These two lines find that material and then do something about it.
Every plan for looking after sensitive material begins with knowing what there is, and almost nobody knows. Actifile scans the machines and shares it is pointed at and says what is genuinely sitting there: identity documents, card numbers, personal records, and the rest of the sediment that gathers around a working household.
It attaches a number to each device, which sounds like a reporting flourish and turns out to be the useful part, because it puts the clean up in an order. The assistant's laptop with four hundred documents of personal information on it gets dealt with before the tablet in the kitchen that has none.
Finding it is only the survey. The second line encrypts the material and controls the routes it may travel by, so a document that leaves on a memory stick or slides into somebody's personal cloud folder is not simply readable at the other end of the journey.
Compliance profiles live here too, and they matter more around a private office than people expect. Payroll for household staff, anything medical, and anything at all touching a child carry obligations, and those obligations do not shrink because the office is four people and a spare room.
The rates underneath arrive from billing as this page opens. Anything you set is held in the running order meanwhile.
The survey. It reads what a device is holding, works out how much of it is sensitive, and gives you a picture of where risk has piled up instead of a general unease about it.

The half with teeth in it. Sensitive files are encrypted and the routes data may leave by are controlled, so a copy taken out of the house is not readable wherever it ends up.

Data protection is sold with far more confidence than it has earned. These are the limits we would want somebody to state if we were the ones buying.
